Musicianary
The Bible speaks about Gods “calling” on our lives. I believe it!
When people ask “what do you do” we normally assume their referring to our profession.
In Nashville TN most aspiring musicians work a ‘day job” to make ends meet. There’s a good chance that your waiter, waitress or cashier is a talented singer or musician. Their passion is music but their job is something other. The question “what do you do” may be difficult for them to answer.
Someone who has become a Christian has a similar dilemma. They may be a trained and gifted accountant or carpenter by trade but their new identity and passion is now immersed in the Life of Christ. To be “Born again” as Jesus said, is no longer a theory but being experienced!
I’ve had to try and figure out what was happening to me! I love music and have made a profession of it but something more is afoot. I have a burning passion to preach the gospel and tell this wonderful story of Gods love for us! It has affected everything about my life, and certainly my music. I must do both! So to answer the question, “what do you do” my response is; I’m a “Musicianary”. No, it’s not in the Bible. It’s a term that was used by a friend of mine that best describes what God has “Called” me to do. Musician and Missionary have been forged together and my hearts desire is that my life and songs will reflect His glory and tell of His greatness!
God has allowed me to go all over the world as a Musicianary and it has been an amazing adventure! I’ve seen how a song could reach peoples heart when nothing else would work. I have seen first hand the poverty, persecution, depravity, and civil unrest that so many live in and I only hope that my life and music will glorify God and be an encouragement to people wherever I go. My desire is to let Christ live His life through me. He’s the real musician and the real missionary, and He’s the only one who can touch people’s lives in such a way that they will be born again and changed forever!
